The 9th Annual Freedom Scholarship Contest
Brooks, LeBoeuf, Bennett, Foster & Gwartney is proud to announce the
9th Annual Freedom Scholarship Essay Contest.
We want to thank all of the students that submitted essays for our 9th annual Freedom Scholarship Essay contest. The finalists have been chosen - those ten essays will be submitted to independent judges to select the 2009 winner. Congratulations to our finalists:

Recap of contest rules:
- The applicant must be a high school junior or senior and a resident of Leon, Wakulla, Gadsden or Jefferson County.
- The essay must be typewritten and contain no less than 500 and no more than 1,000 words. The subject of the essay must be: The Bill of Rights: What it means to me as an American. The essay must cover one, any combination or all of the first ten amendments to the Constitution.
- Only one essay may be submitted per person.
- No current or past employees or immediate family members of Brooks, LeBoeuf, Bennett, Foster & Gwartney, or of the independent celebrity judges are eligible to enter the competition.
- The top ten essays will be submitted to a panel of independent celebrity judges who will select the award winning essay. One scholarship in the amount of $2,500 will be awarded directly to a high school junior or senior.
- The completed application with an original essay must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2009 (note: we have extended the deadline - the new deadline is 4/30/09). Essays can be mailed or hand-delivered to:
